At RHPS on August 21, 2017 our goal is to educate students about the phenomena of the solar eclipse. We want students to understand that eclipses of this magnitude are rare. We are planning to observe the sun’s placement in the sky on the morning of August 21, and then look at how it affects shadows as it “moves” throughout the sky. We will also discuss the difference in temperature while in a shadow as opposed to direct sunlight.
Each classroom teacher is planning activities appropriate for their students.
